West Ham United is in talks to bring French midfielder N’Golo Kante back to the Premier League from Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.

The potential deal, valued at around £20 million, could see the 33-year-old return to London after a successful spell with Chelsea from 2016 to 2023.

Kante, who joined Al-Ittihad last year, showcased his exceptional abilities at Euro 2024, earning praise for his performances with the French national team.

This has caught the attention of West Ham, who are keen to strengthen their midfield after deciding not to make Kalvin Phillips’ loan move permanent.

Since joining Chelsea in 2016 after winning the Premier League with Leicester City, Kante quickly established himself as a key player at Stamford Bridge.

He played a crucial role in the Blues’ successes, including winning the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup, among other titles. However, a series of injuries affected his consistency, eventually leading to his departure from the London club.

He joined Al-Ittihad on a lucrative contract reportedly worth £86 million per year and is believed to be satisfied with his time in Saudi Arabia.

Despite his injury issues, Kante’s performances at Euro 2024 have shown that he still has the skill and tenacity that made him one of the world’s top midfielders.

His resurgence has reportedly impressed West Ham’s technical staff, who view him as a perfect addition to their squad.

As negotiations progress, West Ham fans will be eagerly awaiting confirmation of Kante’s potential return to the Premier League, hoping he can bring his extensive experience and midfield prowess to the London Stadium.
