Eleven additional Democracy Hub protesters, including Felicity Nelson, will remain in police custody overnight after the court’s decision to adjourn their hearing.

Circuit Court 6, where the protesters were presented, has postponed the hearing to Thursday, September 25, to give the prosecution time to address the bail applications.

This raises the total number of Democracy Hub protesters remanded in police and prison custody to 50.

The protesters were arrested by police between Saturday, September 21, and Monday, September 23, following violent clashes with police at the 37 Intersection in Accra during the ‘anti-galamsey’ protest organized by the pressure group Democracy Hub.

Additionally, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a prominent member of the group, has been admitted to the Police Hospital.
