At least 14 people have been killed after a boat capsized on the Congo river in Tanganyika province, in the east of the Democratic republic of Congo, a local official has told the BBC.
Thirty-six people have been rescued and the search is going on for other survivors, the official added.

Local media are reporting that the boat was overloaded and was hit by a storm.
