The Northern regional youth organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was attacked by armed robbers on the Yendi-Zabzugu road.

Believer Likpalmo, who was returning from a campaign trail, initially mistook the situation for an accident when he saw a car with market women on the ground. As he slowed down, he heard gunshots.
The robbers then threw a stone that shattered his car’s windscreen and demanded his money and mobile phone.

“So after the smash of the windscreens they instructed me to bring my money and phones. The robbers inflicted knife wounds on him.

“Then they run to me in the car instructing me to off the car. Beat me with the guns they were holding. They were rescued by the police and were later taken to the Yendi hospital.
“And after 15 minutes the Police came in and took us to their station. We gave them our statement and then they took us to the Yendi hospital,” he stated.
