Fifteen passengers were injured in an accident at Kyerewere along the Nsawam-Suhum road involving a sprinter vehicle traveling from Kumasi to Accra.
Eyewitnesses report that the incident occurred when the sprinter, which was reportedly speeding, swerved off the road after the driver attempted to brake upon realizing a tyre had burst.

The abrupt maneuver caused the vehicle to lose control, with three passengers being thrown from the car. One woman’s leg became trapped between the doors during the chaos.
Of the 15 injured passengers, three were in critical condition and rushed to the hospital, with one in particularly severe condition.
There are also unconfirmed reports suggesting that the vehicle’s mate may have died in the crash, though this remains unverified.
A witness at the scene shared: “I was eating when I heard the loud sound of a tyre burst. When I went to check, I saw it was a sprinter. Due to overspeeding, the driver lost control while trying to stop the vehicle, and three passengers were thrown out.
I quickly rushed to help a woman whose leg was trapped between the doors. The vehicle was speeding from Kumasi to Accra, and when the tyre burst, it veered into the bush.”
Police are on-site managing the situation and conducting investigations into the cause of the crash.
