[2022 World Cup playoff] Ex-Ghana President John Mahama urges Black Stars to qualify for World Cup

Ghana’s Former President John Dramani Mahama has urged the Black Stars to qualify for the 2022 World Cup to be staged in Qatar 

The Black Stars battle it out with The Super Eagles of Nigeria for one of the five tickets to represent Africa at the World Cup.

The first leg ended in a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday.

Ahead of the second leg encounter, the rivalry between the two countries has intensified with the World Cup ticket set to be decided in this game to be played at the Moshood Abiola Sports Stadium in Abuja.

Former President John Dramani Dramani in a post has urged the team to eye qualification in this game.

“I urge the Ghana Black Stars to be resolute today to qualify Ghana for the FIFA 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar”.

Ghana’s Sports Ministry has sent well wishes to the Black Stars ahead of their crucial World Cup decider against sworn-rivals Nigeria.

The first leg ended in a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium four days.

In a press statement issued on Monday, the Ministry said, it “wishes the Black stars well in this crucial encounter and entreats all Ghanaians to throw their support behind them.”

Ghanaians living in Nigeria are advised to contact the Ghana High Commission in Nigeria for tickets to enter the stadium to support the Black Stars.

“The Ministry of youth and sports wishes to announce to the general public especially Ghanaians living in Abuja and its environs who may want to attend the match between the Black stars of Ghana and their Nigerian counterparts in the return fixture play off scheduled for the Moshood National stadium in Abuja to kindly contact the Ghana High Commission on the following telephone numbers for their tickets.

The game between Nigeria and Ghana will be played on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Moshood Abiola National Sports Stadium.
