The 16th edition of the Ghana Leadership Awards (GLA), a prestigious event celebrating exceptional leaders who drive progress in Ghana, is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

This annual awards ceremony honors individuals, organizations, and institutions that demonstrate exemplary leadership and contribute significantly to the development of Ghana and Africa.

The 2024 theme, “Love Your Country, Love Your People,” emphasizes the importance of national and community-focused leadership.

According to GLA’s CEO, Professor Emmanuel Y. Nash, the award selection process remains rigorous to ensure only the most deserving figures receive recognition.

“We prioritize our integrity by selecting awardees who genuinely merit the honor,” he stated in an October 24 release. “Our focus extends to their roles in advancing Ghana’s social, economic, and political landscape.”

The GLA targets those who dismantle oppressive structures, promote unity and tolerance, and contribute to community development, human security, and the rule of law.

Established in 2009, the awards have honored distinguished figures, including past presidents Nana Akufo-Addo, John Mahama, and J.J. Rawlings; former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan; and business leaders like Dr. Osei Kwame Despite.

Professor Nash noted that past awards have inspired recipients to uphold high leadership standards, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence in their roles.
