Ghana’s Black Galaxies are preparing to face Nigeria in the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) playoff, with head coach Didi Dramani expressing confidence in their chances.

Under Dramani’s guidance, the Black Galaxies have been undergoing intensive training sessions at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram in recent weeks.

As part of their preparations, the team traveled to Lome, where they secured a 2-0 victory over Togo, showcasing their readiness for the upcoming challenge.

In an interview with Supersport Blitz, Dramani emphasized his belief that with the right effort, energy, and tactical flexibility, they are capable of overcoming any obstacles.

“We are working on putting together a team, building the process, and ensuring cohesion and fluidity in our play. With the right effort, energy, and tactical adaptation, we should be able to succeed,” he stated.

The CHAN playoff against Nigeria will be a stern test for the Black Galaxies. Dramani acknowledged Nigeria’s football prowess, however, the former Black Stars assistant coach believes his players are equally better.

“We are playing against one of the best countries in terms of football in Africa and Ghana is equally a very quality side when it comes to African football. The chances are very bright and that is what we are doing,” he added.

Ghana’s Black Galaxies had a commendable run in the 2022 CHAN tournament, advancing to the quarterfinals where they ultimately faced elimination at the hands of Niger, succumbing to a 2-0 defeat.

Ghana will lock horns with arch-rivals Nigeria in the playoff round for next year’s CHAN, with the first leg set to take place at the Accra Sports between Stadium on December 22, 2024 before heading to Nigeria for the second and decisive leg on December 28, 2024.
