A tragic event has taken place in Adom Estate, a suburb of Akweley in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of Kasoa, where a 21-year-old man and his 18-year-old girlfriend lost their lives in a fire.
The family of the deceased, identified as Kwabena Osei, suspects foul play and is concerned that the couple’s deaths may have resulted from arson rather than an accidental fire.
According to the family, the charred bodies of Kwabena Osei and his girlfriend, Princess Ahiatey, were found on Wednesday morning in their rented apartment.
While initial reports indicated that the fire was due to an electrical fault, the family has raised doubts, pointing to suspicious evidence discovered at the scene.
Among the findings was a petrol-filled bottle located near the building, along with a padlock on the outside of the room’s door, suggesting that the couple may have been intentionally locked inside.
These discoveries have led the family to believe that the fire may have been deliberately set to kill the victims.
Additional suspicions emerged when CCTV footage reportedly showed a mysterious figure approaching the area just before the fire ignited.
Moreover, there are suggestions that Kwabena Osei may have been involved in internet fraud, which could have angered some associates, potentially playing a role in this tragic incident.
The police are currently investigating the case to ascertain the cause of the fire and whether foul play was indeed involved.
