Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov held a news briefing regarding the upcoming BRICS summit in Russia later this month.
He announced that 30 delegations have confirmed their participation, and the membership of new countries, including Turkey—which submitted its bid to join in September—may be considered.

Ryabkov also indicated that Ukraine might be included in the agenda for the October summit, stating that “Russia was and remains open to a political and diplomatic solution to the conflict.”
The BRICS alliance, originally founded in 2006 by Brazil, Russia, India, and China, expanded to include South Africa in 2010.
It has recently seen significant growth, now including Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates. Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in joining, while Azerbaijan has submitted a formal application.
