The Police have arrested a 32-year-old digital marketer for allegedly threatening an Uber driver with a toy gun over a transport fare dispute in Aplaku.

According to a statement issued by the Police on Wednesday, March 5, the incident occurred on March 2, 2026, when the suspect, Jeffrey Selasi Johnson Edze, hired an Uber driver to travel from Weija China Mall to his residence in Aplaku.

The complainant told the police that during the journey, the suspect requested a stop near the Weija SCC area to buy food. The delay reportedly led to a disagreement over the transport fare.

Police said that upon arrival at his residence, the suspect allegedly refused to pay the fare and went into his room, returning with a replica Beretta toy pistol, which he used to threaten the driver.

The driver immediately reported the incident to the Police, prompting a swift response from a patrol team. The suspect was arrested at the scene, and a search of his room led to the recovery of the toy firearm.

The suspect is currently assisting the police with investigations and will be charged in court in due course.

The Police have warned the public that using toy guns or imitation weapons to threaten or intimidate others is unlawful, and offenders will be arrested and prosecuted.
