A total of 72 people have reportedly collapsed during the 67th Independence Parade at the Tamale Jubilee Park on Wednesday, March 6.
Among those who collapsed were students,service personnel and soldiers from the Ghana Armed Forces.
It is believed that they suffered from the harsh weather condition in Tamale on the day which got them severely dehydrated

The students and personnel stood in the scorching sun for hours and it is believed that might have resulted in their collapse.
Officials from the Ghana Red Cross Society, Ambulance Service and other health workers present rushed to their rescue.
The acting Northern Regional Manager for the Red Cross Society, Yakubu Amin Abukari, in an interview, said the total number of people who fainted was 72.
According to him,they include 44 students,six soldiers, five Policemen, seven Prison officers, six Fire officers, and two Immigration officer.
Mr Abukari also revealed that most of the students did not have breakfast before coming to the parade coupled with the hot weather in the region which contributed to the fall.
However,all 72 people have since been resuscitated he said.
The parade was graced by the northern regional minister, Shani Alhassan Shaibu, mayor of Tamale, Sule Salifu among other dignitaries.
