The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the launch of the 2024 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) for BECE candidates, with 94% of students now placed in secondary schools.

As of Monday, October 28, GES reported that out of 563,339 results received from WAEC, 553,155 students qualified for school placement, with 447,698 students (80.93%) being automatically placed in one of their selected schools.
However, 104,918 eligible candidates were not matched with any of their choices.
Of those unplaced candidates, 73,390 (13.27%) were offered placements in schools similar to those they selected. These students may accept or decline the recommended placements.
Those who decline may select a different school on the Self-Placement portal, which allows unlimited changes until they finalize enrollment.
GES also advised parents and guardians not to pay individuals for assistance with school placements.
New students are expected to begin orientation on October 30, with academic work set to start by November 7, 2024.
