Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin has received a nomination for the esteemed La Liga Goal of the Month award for September, thanks to his outstanding performance with Rayo Vallecano.

The Black Stars center-back received this nomination for his spectacular goal in Rayo Vallecano’s 3-1 triumph over Osasuna earlier this month. His impressive strike not only helped secure the victory but also earned him the Man of the Match award.

Mumin’s nomination puts him in competition with Osasuna’s Raul Garcia and UD Las Palmas’ Sandro Ramirez, both of whom also scored remarkable goals during the month.

The defender has quickly established himself as a key player for Rayo Vallecano, regularly starting in the center of defense and delivering consistent performances.

His goal against Osasuna—a stunning strike from outside the box—captured the attention of fans and pundits alike, further enhancing his impressive season.

The 25-year-old has also been a consistent presence in the Black Stars lineup, underscoring his significance both domestically and internationally.

Notably, Abdul Mumin is the second Ghanaian player to receive a nomination for a La Liga award in September, joining Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams, who has been shortlisted for the La Liga Player of the Month award.
