Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has donated medical equipment valued at $1.2 million to the Mepe Health Centre.

This health centre, established by Citi FM and Channel One TV with support from the Ghana Chamber of Mines in April, was part of relief efforts for the community affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage.
The facility, which began operations four months ago, was in need of essential medical equipment.
In partnership with SOS in the USA, Ablakwa has provided a range of items including a dialysis machine, incubators, suction machines, beds, wheelchairs, and other medical supplies to improve healthcare services.
The Mepe Health Centre, which serves around 20,000 residents in the area, will undergo further upgrades to a full hospital in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, as assured by the MP during the handing-over ceremony.
