Nana Akua Afriyie, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ablekuma North, has dismissed the possibility of a rerun of the parliamentary election in the constituency. She insists that all necessary documentation is intact, refuting calls for a rerun amid disputes over the collation process.

A High Court order on January 4, 2025, directed the Electoral Commission (EC) to finalize the collation process and declare results for four constituencies. While three constituencies have completed their declarations, the process for Ablekuma North remains incomplete.

Collation resumed on January 8, 2025, but was halted due to missing results from three polling stations. Although the EC planned to continue on January 17, 2025, security concerns raised by the Ghana Police Service led to a postponement.

Despite this, the EC, in a statement on January 17, indicated that the police had not provided enhanced security at the collation center, leading to an invasion by party supporters and a subsequent suspension of the process.Speaking in an interview on the Channel One Newsroom on Thursday February 6, Afriyie noted that “The three polling stations, we have the pink sheets. We have the original pink sheets and we have the scanned copies, so why the rerun?

“I don’t agree in any way. We are not going for any rerun. We are going to collate those three polling stations.” Afriyie declared.
