A violent clash broke out between students of Accra High School and Kinbu Senior High School in the Greater Accra region on January 28, 2025.
The altercation, which was captured on video, spread quickly on social media, showing Accra High students chasing Kinbu students with clubs and makeshift weapons.¹
The cause of the fight is unclear, but it’s reported that an Accra High student attacked a Kinbu student, leading to retaliation. The situation escalated when Kinbu students, armed with clubs, marched towards Accra High but retreated after seeing a police patrol.
This incident has raised concerns about increasing violence in Ghanaian schools and declining student discipline. Kinbu Senior High School is located near Accra Polytechnic, Tudu, Ghana.
