Dr. Peter Boamah Otokunor, Chairman of the NDC 2024 Manifesto Planning Committee, has commended former President John Dramani Mahama for his efforts in tackling the energy crisis, commonly referred to as “dumsor,” during his time in office.

In a recent interview on Eyewitness News, Dr. Otokunor highlighted that Mahama’s management of the energy crisis stands out as one of his most notable accomplishments.
He pointed out that what had eluded resolution for over 50 years was successfully addressed by Mahama in just two and a half years.
“The point is that we have a president who within a matter of two years was able to double our generation capacity from the days of Nkrumah and within two and half years, he’s able to double the generation capacity to almost about 4,800MW, that is an outstanding legacy.
“That is a man, that we talk about achieving possibilities, that is a man of possibilities; building a nation.
“Something that we have not been able to do in over 50 years, this man does it in two and half years and you are talking about dumsor? I think that dumsor is one of the greatest legacies of President Mahama in terms of how he fixed it and everybody saw it that he fixed it before we left,” he stated.
