Dango Ouattara, who was sent out in the closing stages, scored just before the half-time whistle to give Kamou Ma’s side victory over the Carthage Eagles.

The Stallions that were missing their talisman and captain Bertrand Traore got off to a bright start at Garoua’s Omnisports Romde stadium.

The Burkinabe held possession during the opening exchanges. Steeve Yago, Ibrahim Toure and others pulled the strings in midfield.

Cyrille Bayala got the first chance of the match in a closely fought match when he found space to shoot straight at Bechir Sid in the Tunisian goal, midway through the second half.

Koffi stopped the Carthage Eagles from scoring on 26 minutes. He dived to his right to save Wahbi Khani’s fierce free kick.

The two sides continue their rivalry in midfield and try to strike on the counter.

Jaziri nearly scored with a defensive error in Burkinabe’s box when he charged Soumaila Ouattara.

Dango broke the deadlock with a fine finish from a quick counter attack. Ibrahim Toure played the ball through to him and he cut inside, before firing past Bechir.

Tunisians returned to the pitch after the break with more determination, as they seek the equalizer.

Kouakou Koffi pulled a brilliant save from a set piece situation to keep the lead. Koffi was equal to Ali Maaloul’s magnificent strike later on.

The Stallions fell to ten men as Dango, the goal scorer, was sent off after he swung an arm.

The Burkinabe managed to make it to the semifinals, where they will be meeting the winner between Equatorial Guinea and Senegal.
