Emmanuel Bedzrah, Chairman of the Adhoc Committee investigating the Appointments Committee chaos, has accused Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin of directing NPP MPs not to testify before the committee.

During the committee’s first public hearing on February 5, Bedzrah announced an indefinite suspension of proceedings, initially attributing the directive to the Clerk of Parliament, supposedly on orders from Speaker Alban Bagbin.
However, the Ho West MP later uncovered that the suspension was orchestrated by the Minority leadership, not the Speaker. In an interview with Vivian Kai Lokko on Channel One Newsroom, Bedzrah further alleged that the Minority actively discouraged its members from appearing before the committee.
According to him, a witness from the Minority initially agreed to appear but later withdrew, citing instructions from Afenyo-Markin not to attend the hearing.
“We received a message from the other colleague who was coming that he was stopped by the minority leader. The one coming as a witness said he had received instructions from their leadership that nobody should come,” he stated.
