The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) is inviting film submissions from across Africa to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

As 2024 marks two decades of honoring Africa’s diverse films and filmmakers, the deadline for late entries has been extended to August 10.

The Africa Movie Academy Awards, founded by the late Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, was created to recognize and elevate African storytelling through cinema.

Her pioneering efforts, commitment, and dedication were crucial to the development of Nollywood and the broader African film industry, making her an integral part of its success.

Through her contributions and achievements, the world of cinema is recognizing the creativity, innovation, and hard work of Africa’s filmmakers worldwide.

Since its inception, AMAA has been committed to advancing film excellence, nurturing a dynamic professional network, and spotlighting the exceptional talents that shape the industry.

As the Africa Movie Academy Awards marks its 20th anniversary this year, founder Peace Ayiam Osigwe will be honored for her significant contributions and her mission to create a platform that connects both industry veterans and newcomers, promoting collaboration and innovation.

The submission period for the 20th edition of AMAA has been extended to welcome entries from across Africa.

Feature films, short films, documentaries, etc., produced and released between January 2023 – July 2024 will be considered.
