Marathon singer Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum was among the distinguished guests who visited Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, during the inaugural Awukudae celebration of the year.
The visit was an opportunity for Asantewaa to express her heartfelt gratitude to the Asantehene for the warm support extended during her second attempt to set a Guinness World Record, which took place at the Baba Yara Stadium in December.
Otumfuo praised the singer for her courage and determination, recognizing her exceptional efforts to raise Ghana’s profile on the global music stage.
Accompanying Afua Asantewaa during the visit were Kwame Adinkra, Kofi Owusu Aduonum, Gladys Owiredu, Isaac Amponsah, and Asare Daniel, all of whom joined in celebrating the cultural significance of the day.
Her second attempt to achieve a Guinness World Record took place from December 21 to 26 at the Baba Yara Stadium’s Heroes’ Park annex, located in the heart of the Ashanti Region.
The event attracted both local and international attention as Asantewaa tested the limits of endurance through her musical performance.
