The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared its intention to compete strongly with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for votes in the Volta Region.

During a press conference in Ho, NPP’s Communications Director, Richard Ahiagbah, criticized the NDC for neglecting the Volta Region despite the residents’ long-standing loyalty.
Ahiagbah noted that the NDC has not provided the Volta Region with the development expected from a political stronghold, which the region has historically been for the party.
In contrast, he highlighted the NPP’s recent contributions, including the Free Senior High School program, Agenda 111 hospital projects, and investments in infrastructure, roads, education, and ICT.
With the upcoming 2024 election, Ahiagbah emphasized that the NPP, led by Dr. Bawumia, has a development-focused plan for the region.
He encouraged voters to reconsider their support for the NDC, suggesting that the recent large turnout for Dr. Bawumia’s Volta Region tour reflects genuine local support and will lead to increased votes for the NPP on December 7.
