Kwabena Agyekum Appiah Kubi, the running mate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) flag bearer, known as ‘Roman Fada’, has shared his thoughts on the death of Madam Akua Donkor.
“She had been unwell for several days, prompting us to take her to the Nsawam Government Hospital on Saturday.

However, her condition did not improve, and I was informed on Sunday that she was being transferred to Ridge Hospital around 1 AM on Monday,” he explained during an interview on Onua TV’s morning show, Maakye, on October 29.
“Later in the afternoon, the family informed me that she had passed away. She was 83 years old,” he added. Akua Donkor died at Ridge Hospital in Accra on Monday, October 28.
Broadcast journalist Adakabre Frimpong Manso confirmed the news on TV3’s New Day show on October 29, stating, “Last night, I visited Ridge Hospital where I saw Akua Donkor’s body in the ICU around 11 PM, accompanied by her daughter and relatives, including her running mate Appiah Kubi. She had already passed.”
Akua Donkor had made multiple attempts to run for the presidency and secured third place in the 2024 presidential election.
Her political journey began when she was elected as the Assemblywoman for Herman, and she first attempted to run for president as an independent candidate in 2012.
