President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged all stakeholders and Ghanaians to protect and maintain the newly commissioned Flower Pot Interchange, ensuring that it fulfills its intended purpose.

At the commissioning ceremony on Tuesday, November 19, in Accra, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the need for proper maintenance to improve connectivity, reduce travel times for commuters, and ensure the infrastructure remains functional for the long term.
The Flower Pot Interchange, a vital infrastructure project, is designed to alleviate traffic congestion on the North and South corridors of the Tema Motorway.
It includes an 802-meter dual carriageway viaduct, a 140-meter ramp from Shiashie leading towards Airport Hills, and an 80-meter ramp linking the viaduct to the Motorway towards Tema.
Other features include a new road through the old tunnel at East Legon, pedestrian walkways, and road furniture such as streetlights and traffic signals.
President Akufo-Addo called on local authorities, residents, and all relevant parties to take responsibility for maintaining the interchange and to report any issues to the proper authorities.
He also highlighted the positive impact the interchange would have on the local economy, noting that improved transportation infrastructure fosters economic growth and development.
