As his second term nears its end, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed deep gratitude to the people of Ghana for giving him the opportunity to lead the nation for two consecutive terms.

In a heartfelt message shared on Sunday, November 10, President Akufo-Addo reflected on the journey of his presidency, acknowledging both the challenges and successes during his tenure.
He emphasized his pride in the progress Ghana has made and the collective efforts that have strengthened the nation’s development.
Akufo-Addo’s path to the presidency was a long and arduous one. After two unsuccessful attempts in 2008 and 2012, both of which ended in narrow defeats, he persevered and launched his third campaign in 2016.
His campaign, focused on economic reform, anti-corruption measures, and national development, ultimately led to his victory over then-incumbent President John Dramani Mahama.
In 2020, Akufo-Addo secured re-election, with many viewing it as a strong endorsement of his leadership and policies.
Reflecting on this journey, he described serving as president as a lifelong dream realized, grounded in his unwavering passion for public service and dedication to Ghana.
In his message, President Akufo-Addo conveyed his profound gratitude not only for the mandate given to him by the Ghanaian people but also for their unwavering support throughout his time in office.
He acknowledged the significant achievements and challenges faced during his two terms, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to Ghana’s growth and development.
“As I near the end of my time in office, I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to you, the people of Ghana, for giving me the opportunity to serve as your president for two successive consecutive terms.
“This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, and I am immensely proud of all we have accomplished together in agriculture, in governance, and in the lives we have touched.”
