Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Afrafranto Alliance and presidential candidate for the Movement for Change, has boldly dismissed claims from his political opponents in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that voting for him would be a wasted effort.

During a candid interview on Oyerepa TV in Kumasi on November 18, 2024, Kyerematen criticized these claims as baseless and part of a concerted effort to discourage Ghanaians from choosing a candidate capable of driving real transformation in the country.

He described the negative propaganda as a desperate attempt by both major political parties to protect their hold on power despite their failure to address the country’s pressing issues.

Kyerematen cited recent credible polls showing that about 80% of Ghanaians desire change, with many looking for a leader who possesses integrity, vision, and practical solutions to solve the country’s economic crises.

He urged voters to ignore the narrative that he cannot win, stressing that with the overwhelming support of those advocating for change, victory is not only possible but imminent.

“They know I am the one who can fix Ghana’s problems, so why are they saying I won’t win?” he stated. “If 80% of Ghanaians want change and they vote for me, then I will win. If you vote for me and everyone else who wants change votes for me, won’t I win?”

He further reassured Ghanaians that voting for him would not constitute a waste of their vote. “A wasted vote is one cast for a candidate with lofty promises who ultimately fails to deliver,” Kyerematen explained.

“For years, you voted for candidates who promised to create jobs, fix roads, and improve the economy, but nothing changed. That’s the true meaning of a wasted vote. I am here to deliver, not to fail.”

The presidential hopeful criticized both the NPP and NDC for their lack of meaningful progress during their combined 32 years of governance in the Fourth Republic, noting that the country’s current economic stagnation and growing unemployment rate are the direct result of failed leadership.

“After 32 years, what do we have to show? Economic stagnation,” he said, highlighting how both parties have failed to introduce fresh and innovative solutions. He further emphasized that their manifestos fail to address the urgent needs of the people, and the country cannot afford to repeat the same mistakes.

Kyerematen drew on his extensive experience in business development, pointing to his work with Empretec and Enterprise Africa, where he was instrumental in supporting the establishment of over 60% of Ghana’s leading companies.

He noted that these companies, which employ hundreds of thousands of Ghanaians, are a testament to his ability to create jobs and spur economic growth.

This, he argued, makes him the most experienced candidate when it comes to economic development and job creation in the 2024 race.

In a sharp critique of the current state of politics, Kyerematen expressed disappointment at the NPP and NDC for shifting the debate from policy to accusations of corruption. “Instead of offering solutions to corruption, they are busy accusing each other of being more corrupt.

This is why I am offering a government of national unity,” he remarked, underscoring his commitment to running a government focused on addressing the real issues of the nation.

The Afrafranto leader also unveiled his Great Transformational Plan (GTP), a comprehensive roadmap designed to tackle Ghana’s most pressing issues.

He emphasized that stabilizing the macroeconomy is a cornerstone of his plan, as it is essential for achieving sustainable growth in sectors such as agriculture, industry, and tourism. These industries, he stressed, would provide millions of jobs for Ghana’s youth and restore hope to families across the country.

Kyerematen, whose reputation for integrity remains unblemished throughout his career, reassured Ghanaians that under his leadership, the country would be free from corruption.

“I have never been corrupt, and I will never be corrupt. Ghanaians deserve a leader they can trust, and I have demonstrated that trust throughout my career,” he confidently declared.

The enthusiastic response to his message, particularly on social media and in various communities across Ghana, demonstrates the growing momentum for his campaign. His call for a unified, solution-driven government resonated deeply with voters eager for real change.

In his closing remarks, Kyerematen called on Ghanaians to look beyond party lines and focus on the future of the country. “This is not just another election; it is a defining moment for our nation,” he concluded. “Ignore the propaganda.

Vote for a leader with integrity, vision, and the proven ability to deliver results. Vote for me, and together, we will transform our economy and bring prosperity to Ghana.”
