Alhaji Boniface Abubakar Saddique, a former Zongo Minister and key supporter of Alan Kyerematen’s campaign, has assured chiefs in the Upper West Region that under Kyerematen’s presidency, the north will emerge as Ghana’s agricultural hub in West Africa.

Speaking to traditional leaders during the Caravan Campaign Tour on October 21, 2024, Saddique explained how Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan (GTP) will unlock the significant agricultural potential of northern Ghana.
“When Alan Kyerematen assumes office, the northern sector will be transformed into the food basket of the nation and beyond,” Saddique declared, receiving applause from the chiefs. “With our abundant arable land and natural resources, these will be utilized for the benefit of all under Alan’s leadership.”
He elaborated on how the GTP intends to revolutionize agriculture, particularly in the northern regions where potential remains untapped.
“Alan’s agricultural revolution will not only generate jobs but also make Ghana self-sufficient in food production, eliminating the need for imports when we have all we require right here,” he stated.
Saddique emphasized the economic opportunities in the northern regions beyond traditional agriculture.
“In the north, everything has the potential to be an economic asset—whether it’s the trees, medicinal herbs, or fertile land. Alan Kyerematen recognizes this, and his plan will ensure that every part of this region contributes to national development.”
As a senior advisor to Kyerematen and a prominent member of the Movement for Change, Saddique drew from his experience as Zongo Minister during President Akufo-Addo’s first term to address the challenges facing the nation, particularly youth unemployment.
“The core of our economic issues lies in poor leadership. We don’t lack resources; we lack visionaries to lead us,” he commented. “Alan is that visionary. He is the nationalist who will create jobs and ensure that every Ghanaian has money in their pockets.”
He highlighted that Kyerematen’s GTP aims to address the dual issues of unemployment and economic stagnation by prioritizing job creation. “When young people are unemployed, they become desperate, leading to increased crime and unrest.
Alan understands this and has plans to provide sustainable jobs for the youth. His vision will foster peace because idle hands will no longer be the devil’s workshop.”
Alhaji Boniface Saddique urged the chiefs and people of the Upper West Region to rally behind Alan Kyerematen, stressing that politics should transcend tribal or religious affiliations and focus on electing a leader capable of delivering results.
“We need a leader who can unite us all, regardless of our backgrounds.
Alan Kyerematen is that leader. He will ensure that every region and community benefits from the national wealth. His leadership will guarantee that we all enjoy the fruits of our labor.”
Elder Cletus Nyureh, speaking on behalf of the Paramount Chief of the Nandom Traditional Area, Prof. Edmund Nminnyem Dell Chiir VIII, remarked that they have long awaited Alan’s arrival, as they believe in his vision for the country and wished him success in his quest to lead Ghana.
The chiefs and elders expressed their gratitude for Kyerematen’s visit.
As the Caravan Campaign Tour progresses through the Upper West Region, the Movement for Change’s message of economic empowerment and agricultural transformation resonates deeply with both traditional leaders and the general populace.
The chiefs have pledged their support for Alan Kyerematen, recognizing him as a leader capable of fulfilling his promises.
