Black Stars defender Alidu Seidu has been awarded the Player of the Month for September at Stade Rennais.

The Ghanaian international secured this honor by receiving the highest number of votes from fans, outperforming teammates Ludovic Blas and Arnaud Kalimuendo.

Seidu succeeds Amine Gouiri, the August award winner, and has demonstrated impressive form this season, featuring in all four of the club’s matches in September.

His strong defensive skills have positioned him as one of the top performers in Ligue 1, ranking sixth in the league for blocks with 10, and third among Stade Rennais players for interceptions. He is also listed among the top 20 players in Ligue 1 for ground duels won this season.

The 24-year-old, who joined Stade Rennais from Clermont Foot in January, has become an essential member of the squad, making six Ligue 1 appearances so far.

Seidu is expected to play in Rennes’ next match against AS Monaco on Saturday and will likely have a significant role for Ghana in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
