Kantanka, speaking in an interview on Okay FM on April 19, 2024, disclosed that despite being offered the opportunity to sign the petition, he opted out of the process, along with other constituency chairmen and during the interview, the host questioned Chairman Aluta about the rumor that Ashanti regional constituency chairmen were being offered 5 billion old cedis to sign a petition endorsing NAPO as the running mate.

He mentioned that the letter was with Joe Carl, the chairman of Nhyiaeso. He had agreed to go and sign it. On his way to the location, the Kumawu chairman had called him to inquire if he had been contacted.
