The Chief of Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, and Military Secretary, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi are set to testify in the ongoing trial regarding ambulance procurement.

During the court session, Counsel for the Chief of Defense Staff, Lawyer Gbekler, informed the court that his client was absent as he had not received the subpoena.

Lawyers representing the third accused, Richard Jakpa, filed subpoenas for the Chief of Defense Staff and the Military Secretary.

The officials are expected to testify regarding documents submitted by the prosecution, which claim that the businessman was dismissed from the military in 2007 due to unsatisfactory performance and failure to pass a promotional exam.

The documents submitted by the prosecution have been admitted into evidence.

Richard Jakpa’s counsel argues that the documents are irrelevant to the case and intended to discredit their client’s credibility.
