Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo showcased an outstanding performance on Monday night, leading AFC Bournemouth to a commanding 3-1 victory over Southampton at the Vitality Stadium.

Semenyo played a crucial role in the match, contributing to all three goals as Bournemouth clinched maximum points.

The Cherries opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Evanilson found the net after a quick free kick won by Semenyo, with Marcus Tavernier providing the assist.

Bournemouth extended their lead 15 minutes later when Dango Ouattara finished off a well-placed pass from Lewis Cook, with Semenyo again instrumental in the build-up.

Semenyo capped off his impressive performance by scoring Bournemouth’s third goal in the 39th minute, assisted by Cook, giving the hosts a commanding 3-0 lead before halftime.

Southampton managed to pull one back early in the second half, with Taylor Harwood-Bellis heading in from a set piece in the 51st minute.

However, despite the Saints enjoying increased possession (60%) and making multiple substitutions, Bournemouth’s defense remained solid, securing the victory.

Semenyo’s goal, his third of the season, helped lift Bournemouth to 11th place in the league with eight points.

The Cherries will aim to build on this momentum as they prepare to face Leicester City in their next match.
