Ernest Owusu-Bempah, Deputy Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated that any Member of Parliament who misbehaves during parliamentary proceedings on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, will face the full force of the law.

He emphasized that Ghana is a country governed by laws, and these laws must be enforced.
“Any Minority NDC MP who misbehaves in Parliament tomorrow will be arrested to face the laws of Ghana. We are not living in a banana republic,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

On the same day, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin is expected to make a significant decision regarding whether to uphold his October 17 ruling that declared four parliamentary seats vacant or follow a Supreme Court directive to pause the decision.
In response, most National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament took seats on the Majority side of Parliament, joining Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri.
