Samuel Apea-Danquah, the Presidential candidate for Yellow Ghana, has filed a lawsuit against the Electoral Commission (EC) following his disqualification from the 2024 presidential race.

Apea-Danquah, along with 10 other aspirants, was disqualified, while 13 candidates, including four independents, were cleared to run.
The EC cited the failure of the disqualified candidates to correct errors on their nomination forms as the reason for their exclusion from the December 7, 2024, elections.
In response, Apea-Danquah is seeking a certiorari order to overturn the EC’s decision, as well as a mandamus order to compel the Commission to reinstate him as a valid candidate in the upcoming elections.
This lawsuit marks the third case against the EC concerning disqualification, following similar legal actions by Kofi Asamoah-Siaw, the flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), and Bernard Anbataayela Mornah, the flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC).
