Tamale North MP and member of the Transition Team’s subcommittee, Alhassan Suhuyini, has stated that all appointments made after the December 7 election will undergo review and may be reversed once the new government takes office on January 7.

Speaking in an interview with Citi FM, Suhuyini urged the outgoing administration to refrain from rushing appointments and promotions during the transition period.

“…I am cautioning those who are beneficiaries of their action not to allow these people who are at the helms of affairs to damage their genuine case for promotion, because you may have a genuine case for promotion but if you allow these things to go on, then it becomes difficult when the new establishment is put in place come.

“Any untoward promotion or appointment that is done, especially within this period of the transition will have to be looked into and probably reversed.”

Tamale North MP and member of the Transition Team’s subcommittee, Alhassan Suhuyini, has announced that all appointments made after the December 7 election will be reviewed and potentially reversed when the new government assumes office on January 7.

His remarks follow the establishment of the Transition Team, in accordance with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845).

The team’s inaugural meeting was held on Wednesday, December 11, at the Jubilee House in Accra, marking the beginning of an organized and peaceful transfer of power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The National Transition Team, a constitutional body tasked with overseeing the handover process, will collaborate closely with representatives of the outgoing government to ensure a smooth and orderly transfer of political authority.
