A brazen daylight robbery took place at Adabraka Market in Accra on Saturday, November 2, leaving the community in shock.

The incident involved four masked and heavily armed individuals who targeted a man sitting in a red Toyota Corolla parked near the busy market.

While some of the attackers brandished weapons and fired shots into the air, others were seen loading bags of cash from the victim’s vehicle into their getaway car.

Alfred, an employee at Channel One TV/Citi FM, was present during the event and recounted the chaotic scene.

Witnesses reported that the armed group also struck a nearby business, fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash and valuables.

“An armed robbery has taken place at Adabraka, and the thieves made off with a significant amount of money. The police are currently on the scene. Multiple gunshots were fired this morning.

This is the second robbery incident. The police are now working to track the robbers’ escape route,” he said.

In a near miss, a worker at a nearby shop where gold was being melted and remolded described hearing a loud and unfamiliar noise outside.

“We were busy working, melting gold and reshaping it when suddenly we heard a loud noise. At first, we thought someone had fallen into a gutter. But the noise grew louder. Then we noticed people running away, realizing they were gunshots.

Thankfully, the robbers didn’t come our way because we took cover in the shop,” he said.
