Liverpool’s coach, Arne Slot, has addressed the ongoing speculation about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future, following the defender’s goal celebration in the 5-0 win over West Ham. The celebration, Slot suggests, says everything about Alexander-Arnold’s commitment to the club amid interest from Real Madrid.
With just six months left on his contract, Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, with recent reports suggesting the 26-year-old has informed Liverpool of his intention to join the Spanish giants in the summer. It’s also claimed that he has rejected Liverpool’s contract offers, expressing no doubts about his desire to make the move.

However, Slot downplayed any negativity surrounding the situation, especially in comparison to the futures of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk. “No, I don’t think it’s negative at all. He’s playing really well,” Slot told Sky Sports. “He scored a great goal and the way he celebrated it probably tells enough. I’m really happy with Trent, just as happy as I am with Mo and with Virgil.”
Slot also noted that while media attention on Alexander-Arnold’s future might be intensifying, he remains content with the 26-year-old’s performances and commitment to the team. The England international has been cautious when speaking about his contract situation, stating that such matters will not be discussed publicly.
Alexander-Arnold’s goal and celebration at the London Stadium could be seen as a statement dismissing the speculation about his future, signaling his focus remains firmly on the pitch as Liverpool pushes for further success.

As for Liverpool’s other two superstars, their contract situations also remain tentative.
Mail Sport previously reported that Liverpool have made initial contact with Salah over a new contract offer, but the Egyptian star is not thought to be close to coming to an agreement with the Reds over extending his time on Merseyside.

Salah admitted as much after Sunday’s win, despite putting in another inspired display as he registered a goal and two assists.
Earlier this month, Van Dijk was also offered a new deal, but there was reportedly no breakthrough in negotiations with the 33-year-old.
