Mikel Arteta’s men started the match strongly, with Ben White and Bukayo Saka each missing a couple of chances, though Saka managed to test José Sá twice.

However, the Wolves goalkeeper was partly at fault for Arsenal’s opening goal, as Kai Havertz outpaced him to Saka’s enticing cross and headed home.

The hosts had several opportunities to double their lead before halftime, but Wolves came close to equalizing when David Raya made a brilliant save to deny Jørgen Strand Larsen’s header.

Despite intense pressure from Wolves, Saka secured the victory with a crucial second goal for Arsenal.

He combined with Havertz once again, cutting inside before firing a shot into the near post.

Arsenal’s rock-solid defense, the best in the league last season, continued to impress, earning another clean sheet and strengthening their prospects for another title challenge.
