Asante Kotoko will return to their home ground, Baba Yara Stadium, for the rest of the Ghana Premier League season, following a directive from the National Sports Authority (NSA).

The club had moved away from the stadium in September after the NSA closed it for maintenance work ahead of Ghana’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.
The pitch was deemed uneven and the facility did not meet CAF’s Category 3 standards, prompting the decision to close the stadium in preparation for the international games in October.
However, the Black Stars eventually settled in Accra to complete their AFCON qualifiers.
Since the closure, Kotoko has played their league matches at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, where they have recorded three wins, two losses, and one draw in six games.
Kotoko’s return to Baba Yara Stadium is a significant boost for the team, especially as they gear up for their highly anticipated clash against Accra Hearts of Oak when the league resumes after its brief break. Before that, they will play Future Stars in the MTN FA Cup this weekend, giving them an opportunity to reacquaint themselves with their home ground.
