The Christian clergy in the Ashanti Region has gathered to pray for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate for the 2024 general elections, asking for divine guidance as the December 7 polls approach.

On Friday, November 29, 2024, over 200 Christian leaders from all 47 constituencies in the region convened in Kumasi to intercede for Dr. Prempeh, NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the entire party.

Their prayers focused on seeking blessings, favor, and wisdom for Dr. Prempeh, while also asking for peace and stability in the nation before, during, and after the elections. The meeting centered on nation-building, ensuring peaceful elections, and addressing issues important to the Christian community.

Dr. Prempeh reassured the clergy of the NPP’s commitment to strengthening partnerships between government and religious leaders, emphasizing Dr. Bawumia’s vision of inclusivity and collaboration in governance when elected.

Apostle Sampson Adjei Berko of Glory & Hope Ministries International led the intercessory prayers, highlighting the significance of divine intervention for success in the election and the country’s well-being.

The event underscored the crucial role of religious leaders in fostering national unity and guiding the political process through spiritual leadership.
