Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Yohane Amarh Ashitey, has slammed former President John Dramani Mahama for allegedly disrespecting Ghanaians.
Ashitey believes Mahama’s actions and comments, including his promise to scrap ex-gratia if re-elected, demonstrate a lack of respect for the people’s intelligence.

According to Ashitey, Mahama’s recent comments on ex-gratia, including his claim that he has not been receiving it despite receiving it since 2017, are an insult to Ghanaians’ intelligence.
Ashitey agrees with Stephen Ashitey Adjei, a former executive of Tema East NDC, who accused Mahama of not respecting Ghanaians.
Ashitey wrote on social media that Ghanaians will “punish” Mahama during the 2024 elections by rejecting him with their votes.
He believes Mahama’s promise to scrap ex-gratia was a desperate attempt to score political points, which ultimately backfired and exposed his dishonesty.
Ashitey questioned why Mahama took eight years to realize ex-gratia was not good, despite enjoying it during that time.
He believes Mahama’s comments and actions have shown a clear disrespect for Ghanaians, and they will respond with a resounding rejection at the polls.
