English midfielder Conor Gallagher has officially joined Atletico Madrid from Chelsea for a reported fee of £33 million.

The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the La Liga club.
A product of Chelsea’s academy, Gallagher made 90 appearances for the Blues, netting 10 goals.
With his contract due to expire next summer, Chelsea opted to sell him now to prevent losing him on a free transfer.
In a farewell message on Instagram, Gallagher expressed his gratitude to Chelsea for the opportunities and memories he had during his time with the club.
“To everyone at Chelsea, thank you for making my dreams come true,” Gallagher wrote.
“It’s been an absolute honour every time I put on the shirt, and it was a dream come true to captain the team on many occasions.
“I loved every moment. These memories will last forever. I appreciate all the love and support from the fans.”
Atletico Madrid are nearing a deal to bring Portuguese forward Joao Felix back on loan from Chelsea.
The two clubs have reportedly settled on a fee for the 24-year-old, who netted four goals in 20 matches during his 2023 loan stint in west London.
