The Ayew family has categorically denied reports circulating in the media that Andre Dede Ayew and Jordan Ayew have abruptly retired from the Black Stars.

In a statement released on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, family spokesperson Fiifi Tackie described the reports as “entirely false” and “misinformation.”

According to Fiifi Tackie, Andre Ayew, who was surprisingly excluded from the recent Black Stars squad, is currently enjoying a well-deserved holiday after a remarkable season that saw him score six goals in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew is actively training with the team as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.

Solar Ayew, the players’ uncle, expressed the family’s acceptance of the coach’s decision to drop Andre from the squad, acknowledging that such omissions are normal in football.

“We’ve taken Andre’s omission from the Black Stars squad in good faith,” Solar Ayew told Asempa FM.

“He was earning invites when he was unattached, so his omission will surprise not only me but everyone because he is at the top of his game now. This is normal for the Ayew family.”

The family has urged fans and supporters to disregard the misinformation and continue backing the Ayew brothers and the Black Stars.

“We want to assure our fans and supporters that the Ayew brothers remain dedicated to their careers and committed to the national team,” Fiifi Tackie stated. “We appreciate their unwavering support and encouragement.”

Ghana is set to face Mali on June 6 and host the Central African Republic on June 10 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with Jordan Ayew proudly representing the national team.

The Ayew brothers’ commitment to the Black Stars remains unwavering, and they look forward to contributing to the team’s success in the upcoming qualifiers.
