All 33 constituencies in the Eastern Region have received their ballot papers for the Special Voting exercise set for Thursday, December 5, 2024.
The materials, which included new ballot papers and supplementary Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs), arrived at the police armoury in Koforidua Galloway on the morning of Wednesday, December 4, 2024. They were distributed to all constituencies the same day, just a day after the recalled ballots were destroyed.

The Afram Plains North and South Constituencies had received their materials on Tuesday, December 3, after being directed to collect them from the EC’s head office in Accra.
The ballot papers were inspected and sealed by representatives from political parties and independent candidates before being securely transported to their respective constituencies.
The Special Voting exercise will involve about 12,000 voters, including security personnel, media, Electoral Commission (EC) staff, and other key participants for the December 7 election.

In an interview with the media, Alhaji Sidi Bello, the NDC’s Director of Elections for the Eastern Region, commended the EC for the timely and efficient distribution of the materials.
“All the ballot papers for the special voting have arrived. We got them this morning at exactly 7:45 am and we have distributed them to our offices. Our officers were here. So, all the 33 constituencies have gotten their ballot papers for the special voting and tomorrow, the election will come on,” he stated.
