The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has ordered Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, the Kwahu Hene and Chairperson of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), to resign immediately.

This directive follows allegations of improper conduct related to a GHS 2 million transaction.
A confidential letter dated October 10, 2024, addressed to the ADB Board Chairperson, mentioned a petition submitted to the Presidency by Mr. Collins Darkwah Aboagye.
This petition alleges misconduct on the part of Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II in his role as Board Chair of the ADB, and the allegations have since garnered significant media attention.
The BoG, in its letter signed by Osei Gyasi, Head of the Banking Supervision Department, stressed that Daasebre Agyapong’s continued presence in office is untenable due to the damage inflicted on the bank’s reputation.
