Barcelona’s 17-year-old defender, Pau Cubarsi, is recovering well after a facial injury that required 10 stitches during Barcelona’s 5-2 Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade.

The incident occurred in the 67th minute when Cubarsi, who debuted for Barcelona at 16, was struck by Uros Spajic’s studs while attempting to clear a corner.

The impact left him with a bloody face and a deep cut, necessitating immediate medical attention before he was substituted.

After the match, Barcelona’s manager, Hansi Flick, assured fans, saying, “He needed stitches, but he’s fine.”

The club later shared a photo of a smiling Cubarsi with the message, “I’m OK.”

Cubarsi’s resilience and swift recovery come as good news for Barcelona as they continue their Champions League campaign.

Despite this injury setback, the young defender has shown notable maturity since joining the first team, with his strong performance on Wednesday reflecting his impressive growth.
