The Ghana Music Xperience (GMX) streaming platform was launched in Accra.
This app was developed by a group of Ghanaians to provide a collection of Ghanaian music across various genres, including highlife, hiplife, afrobeat, and traditional rhythms.

GMX aims to promote Ghana’s rich musical heritage and contemporary sounds, offering users a smooth listening experience with curated playlists.
The launch event took place on October 30, 2024, at the De Iconic Events Centre in East Legon, Accra.
It was attended by notable figures from the entertainment industry, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who emphasized the significance of having a local music streaming app.
Other attendees included the Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts, and Culture, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, and various artists and stakeholders from the industry.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his pride in launching GMX, stating, “This is a historic moment for Ghana…to have our own music streaming app.”
