Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team, has stated that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s Presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, is the ideal leader to lead the party to victory in the 2028 elections.

In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Face to Face, aired on Channel One TV, Aboagye expressed unwavering confidence that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will continue to support Dr. Bawumia beyond 2024, especially if he chooses to run again in 2028.

He praised Bawumia’s remarkable qualities, describing them as essential for Ghana’s development and progress, and emphasized that his leadership brings the vision and competence necessary to propel the nation forward.

“I think that anytime Dr Mahamudu Bawumia decides that he’s going to run, I’m very confident that the party will rally behind him. Because the party is clear in their minds that the man’s level of creativity, leadership qualities and innovation is something Ghana needs.”

Asked if Bawumia is the best person to lead the party to the presidency, Miracles affirmed, “Without a doubt.”

When asked if Bawumia could recover from the loss, he asserted, “He lost as a running mate in 2008, he lost as a running mate in 2012, and he came back in 2016, he has gone through this before.”

The Electoral Commission (EC) has confirmed that John Dramani Mahama emerged victorious in the December 9 polls, securing 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the valid votes cast. He defeated his main opponent, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 4,657,304 votes, or 41.61%.

This victory marks a significant achievement for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which also secured a commanding majority in Parliament. The NDC has been confirmed to hold over 180 seats, including several key constituencies previously considered strongholds of the ruling NPP.

The party’s parliamentary success, coupled with Mahama’s decisive win, further cements his mandate as he prepares to assume the presidency once again.
