Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has committed to building a first-class road connecting Damanko to Kpassah in the Oti Region, emphasizing the critical need for infrastructure development in the area.

While campaigning in the Nkwanta North constituency, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the community’s demand for road improvements. He stated, “I know what matters to you. Pastors, Chiefs, and Imams have all voiced the importance of the Damanko to Kpassa road.
I understand that if I need to return in four years, I must ensure this road is completed. If I fail to keep this promise, you won’t vote for me again.”
He contrasted his accountability with that of his opponent, former President John Dramani Mahama, implying that Mahama may not face the same level of scrutiny if elected.
“If I don’t fulfill my promise and come back, you won’t vote for me, but if you vote for Mahama, he might not return in four years, so there will be no accountability. I will return, so I must work hard for you,” he noted.
Continuing his tour in the Oti Region, Dr. Bawumia met with chiefs, business owners, and party supporters, reiterating his commitment to providing the necessary road to enhance connectivity and economic opportunities in the region.
