Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has called on the chiefs, clergy, Muslim leaders, and youth of Dzodze in the Ketu North Constituency to trust him with their challenges.

During his visit to Dzodze as part of his tour in the Volta Region, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the community’s struggles with inadequate water supply, poor road conditions, and a lack of support for local rice production. He pledged to tackle these issues if elected.

“I will establish a technical and vocational school here, equipped with modern facilities,” he stated.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized the urgent need to improve the town’s roads and enhance water treatment facilities, noting that many communities in Ketu North suffer from water shortages due to a growing population that has outstripped existing infrastructure.

He further committed to implementing a mechanized system to boost rice production, highlighting that agriculture would be his top priority if he becomes president.

“With 60% of our population engaged in farming, the success of agriculture is vital to our economy.

We need to provide farmers with the right seeds, fertilizers, and irrigation systems,” he said.

Bawumia recognized Ketu North as a leading rice-producing region in Ghana and expressed his determination to support farmers with technology, equipment, and financial resources.

“There’s no reason for us to import rice or tomatoes; we have the land and water resources to produce them locally. My focus will be on advancing agricultural technology,” he assured.
